The Librarian With A Heart For Van Gogh

Wednesday, December 28, 2016

Hey everyone!  Wow, I am so sorry my post's have been kind of sporadic this past week!  Between Christmas, every last minute thing, and then getting Strep Throat it has been very difficult to keep up with everything!  It's been a great week though.  My entire family was/is home, we've had so much quality time together, and even though I'm sick I have treasured every moment... LUCKILY I knew this was going to be a busy time (little did I know I was going to get sick though) we took a few different outfit pictures last week for this week!  So let's get onto the outfit!  I wanted to  throw something together that I could wear as I faced the cold with warm legs, had a put together look, and vintage flare!  You should know by now that my oxfords are my favorite shoes and they never fail in adding some vintage to an outfit!  I loved pairing my pink oxford shirt with it as well!  It added some feminism to it while upholding the "librarian" look I wanted.  What are you wearing as the temperatures drop!?
Even though I look like a librarian, I am an artist at heart!  Van Gogh is my absolute favorite.  I have learned about, read about, seen others art, and I STILL refuse to budge.  My heart loves the colors, the textures, and the story behind the art!  If you like art- do you have a favorite artist!?

Tea For The Weekend: My Christmas Tea

Saturday, December 24, 2016

Good Morning and Happy Saturday!  As of right now I am writing this ahead of time since I won't be blogging on Christmas Eve, but may I tell you, I am SO excited!  What better way to drink my tea on Christmas Eve than to drink it in a snowman cup and a snowman tea pot!  So I can tell you that this is how I will be starting out my Christmas Eve.  I just love Christmas!  It's such a happy and joyful time of year for me.  I LOVE all the family time! Everyone comes home, we sing songs together, sing Happy Birthday to Jesus, give each other thoughtful gifts, and eat Christmas cookies together along with so many other things!  At the end of the day (or beginning- depending on when you most need your pick-me-up) it's nice to sit down, relax, and enjoy one of my favorite teas!  It's a relaxing black tea from Mr. Trombly's Tea Room called Lady Grey!  It has real lavender petals sprinkled through the tea, and so it has an AMAZING taste! It is my go to tea when I feel stressed or I just need to relax.  I suggest to click on over, order a bag, and have a sip for yourself;P
Merry Christmas Eve!

A Remix: My Christmas Ensamble

Friday, December 23, 2016

So we all want a special something to wear for Christmas Eve, for Christmas, or for an infinite amount of Christmas parties we get invited to, BUT it can be hard to pay for something a little more expensive when we can only picture wearing it for Christmas.  Well today I bring to you my Christmas outfit styled two ways- my fancy Christmas style and then a dressed down look that can be worn running errands or going to work or school!
This first look is what I am wearing for a few of my Christmas parties and for the Christmas Eve service at church!  I styled this lovely velvet jumper from Modcloth with some sparkly (who doesn't love sparkles!?) tights, my shiny oxfords, and this lovely caramel colored coat I got this fall from Old Navy!  Sparkle adds some party fun detail to any outfit, and the shiny oxfords give it the vintage look I LOVE (while also adding the fanciness with the shininess).  I was hesitant about carrying the blue purse but I love the contrast now!  Wouldn't have changed it!

When I styled this look I had a workplace, school, or out-and-about kind of look in mind.  The oxford shirt has a professional look, but the baby pink really adds a feminine flare to it!  I lost the tights for this look and decided to keep my vintage look with oxford shoes, but I made it more casual with my dull tan ones.  Let me know how you're restyling your Christmas attire!

Snow Balls and Polar Bears

Wednesday, December 21, 2016

As you know this time of year can be very busy... Hence the reason I missed Monday's usual post.  Whoops!... Now that we are past that can we get onto this glorious snow and the fact that I felt like Lucy from Narnia as I explored the forest!?  I KNEW that I wanted some pictures when it was ACTUALLY snowing so we loaded up our gear and explored the towering snow hugged trees and paths showered in the perfect snow meant for snowball fights and snowmen!
Cold? Yes, so naturally sweater weather instincts kicked in and I tossed on this lovely old gem.  A while back I introduced to you the bibs from ASOS, and today I bring to you something similar- a collar!  It's a collar you can add to any shirt! I will admit though it can be hard to style it sometimes, because some shirts don't come up high enough on the neck to look legit (like this sweater, lol! But hey, good enough, right?!).    I love the beading and beautiful color though, and I especially like how it pairs with my cream polar bear sweater!  What are you styling this winter on your cold and snowy days!?
