Sunday Devotional: Matthew 28: 19 & 20

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Hey everyone and Happy Sunday! These verses are SO important!  So often we tell ourselves, "Okay, so I'm a Christian.  So pretty much I need to be nice, don't get people's way, and tell people I am praying for them when they are going through something tough (even though I'll forget to)... Oh, and go to church."   Ugh, Ugh, Ugh...  You may not be guilty of all of these, but more than likely possibly a few.  Being a Christian is SOOOO much more than being nice to people (anyone can do that) and going to church!  God has called you, me, and every other Christian in this world to share His love and word to the farthest corners of the earth.  We aren't supposed to keep to ourselves.  We need to reach out to people with more than a "hi"! Invest in your co-workers, reach out to family that has wandered from the Lord, help people you see out in public that are in need.  Just do it!  There are so many lost and hurting people out there that don't know the love and grace of Jesus Christ, and the worst part is that THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW IT!!!  Sometimes the people God has placed in our lives to reach out have deeply hurt us or someone close to us, and we then find ourselves ignoring God's calling for us to reach out them.  But you know what?  You can't given what you haven't received... Do you understand?  How can they show you REAL love when they haven't received the gift.  You and I have received God's love and grace though, and that is why it's our responsibility to give it to them too.

Dear God,
I pray that hearts will forgive, and find the courage, grace, and love to share with the people you put in our lives.  You are ALWAYS with us, and we thank you for that!  I ask that we will never forget that as we pursue the people you put in our paths. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
