Jumping In My Jumper

Monday, January 30, 2017

Jumping into the hope of spring like weather in my jumper I wore for Christmas!  Ohio weather is truly a trickster at heart.  One hour it's sunny, warm, and in the 50's, and the next it's cold, dreary, and snowy.  Yup!  That's Ohio for you.  Well, in those few and very rare moments we get in January of warmth I have to take advantage of it.  So I here I give you a fun way I have styled my dress I wear to my Christmas parties.  I backed off with the color by wearing the greys with the purple velvet, but then added a few splashes of red.  All at the same time I also dressed it down with the sweater and boots... Let's face it... Any time I get a chance to wear my new rainboots I am completely take advantage of the situation!  This dress is a new favorite and total keeper though.  It's a very versatile dress that I am looking forward to mix it up with some pinks inspired from my mood board this spring!
What is a certain style or piece you are looking forward to having in your spring style this year!?

Tea For The Weekend: Is Bad Tea A Thing?

Saturday, January 28, 2017

I have ALWAYS said that there is no such thing... Well, this past week I was introduced to the first cup I wasn't wild about.  It was a tea called Passion by TAZO.  I was anxious to try the rose and fruity tea flavors that it described.  Then when I brewed it I was even more excited, and even surprised, to see the GORGEOUS red color it gave off!...  Well, I poured the beautiful beverage into my delicate teacup, touched my lips to the glass, closed my eyes, and boom! It was SO much more potent than I thought it would be.  Does that make it a bad tea? OF COURSE NOT!  Everyone has their own style, and so why can't everyone have their own cup?  I added some sugar to it, and it helped a very little bit.  I am going to try it again, but steep it for a much shorter amount of time than it called for.  So I will be sure to let you know it tastes any better.  If you like a strong cup of floral tea I definitely recommend it!
Have a lovely tea sipping Saturday!

An Edgy Lady

Friday, January 27, 2017

Hey everyone!  you know me.  I typically stick with my florals, pinks, and blues, but I wanted to do something a little more edgy today while still keeping my girly look.  So to smooth the edges down on my edginess today I wore a mellow pink sweater dress!  And I love how it looks with my velvet leggings and black floppy hat!  As you can see- these boots have been around for a while.  When I was a freshman my style was still a bit vintage, but it was definitely more edgy/modern.  So I wore these boots and an identical brown pair ALL the time!  Every once in awhile I venture out of my style comfort zone, but somehow always end up back in my own style zone.  I am never afraid to get a piece or two out my zone as long as I mix it with girly and vintage vibes.
Pushing myself out of y comfort zone is one of the biggest reasons I love to wear what I wear!  It is so important to do that!  When you're out and about looking just pick a few things up to try on in the dressing room that you may think won't look good on you.  BECAUSE IT COULD LOOK FANTASTIC! You never know- so just try!
Have a lovely Friday!

Buffalo's and Rain Boots

Wednesday, January 25, 2017

Good morning and Happy Wednesday to all of you lovelies!  I am SUPER excited about this outfit.  I know, I know.  It isn't anything that special, AND you have seen these pieces before.  I want to share some background though.  I always like buffalo print, but never really sought anything out to have as my own.  Well, one day this past fall my mom and I were checking out in a local Elder-Beerman there was some sort of deal going on, and so the cashier said that if we spent blah amount of money more then we would get an even better deal.  SO my mom sent to look for something REALLY quick as we still being checked out.  I saw this top, and not only did they have my size but it was the ONLY one left! Tada!
The skirt.  Well, I am sure all of you know by now how much I love this skirt.  If you missed my remix of this skirt from a couple of weeks ago here it is! I love the versatility of it, and the vintage Nancy Drew vibes I get when I wear it.
Onto.  The.  Boots.  I've worn my new Hunter boots a few times on here, and SEVERAL times outside of the blog. I am ready to tell you what I think!! I was hesitant to spend almost all of my Christmas money on them, but after a lot of thought I (obviously) decided to get them! They go with SO many more of my outfits than I ever thought, they are very comfy, they don't make my feet sweat, and the boot socks make them a perfect warm boot if you plan on trekking through the snow.  So if you have thought about it, but are hesitant about it I definitely recommend them!
Have a lovely day!

Extreme Feminism... And Comfy Shawls!

Monday, January 23, 2017

Many call me a hipster.  I have never actually labeled myself as one, but in a way I can call myself one.  First off let me give you the definition.
hipster: a person who follows the latest trends and fashions, especially those regarded as being outside the cultural mainstream.
The end of that definition is my main thought when I think of the word, "hipster."  I certainly don't do the normal compared to a majority of my generation I would say.  I have a fashion sense that can be very out there sometimes (while always being modest), I don't use vulgar language, I am kind of artsy-fartsy, I live out my faith very openly, and some even call me old-fashioned or look at me odd when I tell them that I am saving my first kiss for the day I get married.  I think being a hipster means you break the chain, to do what you want to do, and you do it without care of the judgment you may get from others.  With this kind of definition one hipster can be very different from another.  For example a hipster like me is VERY different from a hipster that wears crop tops, listens to bands singing about drugs, and sporting around dreads liked they were born with them.
See? Some may call me a hipster, but I am not a typical hipster.  I am a Christian Hipster if that's a thing, .
This leads me into what I want to talk about.
I AM A WOMAN, BUT I AM NOT A FEMINIST.
Did you hear that? I am NOT a feminist.  Before you exit my page, and never turn back let me explain myself.  I believe we deserve the right to vote, have equal pay, and make our choices.  My reasons are based completely off God's word, so if you aren't a Christian you probably won't see eye to eye with me.  That's okay though.  If you have any questions feel free to email me(:
So let's get started. .
Some feminists say they don't need men or anyone else to succeed.  Where does God fit into that?  We all NEED God.

Ephesians 5:22 tells us to submit to our husbands as we do to the Lord.  I may not be married, but this is a huge thing that should convict us women.  Many people like to be in control, but we as women are to submit to our husbands.

Ephesians 5: 22- 33
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body.31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
So you see? I do not believe a woman should be mistreated, abused, and raped, but rather that men are to love their wives.  Not only are we to love them as well, but show them respect as well.  Does that mean you should never get in a argument? No.  That's impossible.  People can't agree with everyone on everything, but in the end the decisions should be made by the husband.  Our place is in the home, taking care of our families, and taking care of the home.  Do I believe women that work are evil? No, hahaha!!! Do I believe men are greater than women? NO! In fact God says we are all equal in Galatians 3:28.
Galatians 3:28
28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
God talks in the Bible that, yes, we are equal, but men and women have different roles.  Men can do things women can't and women and do things men can (such as bearing child).  A man is meant to lead, the woman is meant to submit.
I know many may disagree, and that is okay.  Today is a day in age where people are encouraged to express their opinions, and then when they do they are put down for it.  Put me down, persecute me, tell me I am wrong, and question me if you feel the need to.  I actually encourage you to ask questions if you don't believe what I believe!  I may not have an answer for everything, but I am open to them(:
Here are a few more verses from scripture that are the reasons of what I believe.
1 Peter 3:1-4
3 Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won overwithout words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
Titus 2:4-5
Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
1 Timothy 2: 12-14
12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;[a] she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.
1 Corinthians 11: 3
But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
