Psalm 62: 5-8
5. Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him. 6. Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. 7. My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge.  8. Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to HIm, for God is our refuge.

Let's begin this year right.  Go to God from the very beginning, and give Him EVERYTHING!  Give Him your troubles, your victories, your weaknesses, give Him praise, and give Him every part of you.  Surrender yourself to a relationship with Him.  I cannot explain to all of how much these verses mean to me.  Psalms is truly a wonderful book of the Bible, chapter 62 is fantastic, and these few verses are something we all need to grasp onto.  When I find myself in times of immense struggle, absolutely no motivation, and loss of sight I realize I haven't been surrendering myself to God.  Then when I do the feeling of peace and love that overwhelms me is incredible.  When I surrender myself to Him, rest in His plan, and go to Him constantly- no matter the struggle or happiness I feel- the joy and contentness that I have can only explained by God.  You see, God loves you and wants to give you everything, but He wants us to do the same.  Enter this year by surrendering yourself before you're faced with the struggles that will come.  Share your happy times with him, let Him lead you, and let him carry you through the storms that are in the forecast for our lives, because HE WANTS that!  He wants you to open the door and invite Him.
Where are you at when it comes to this?  What's the step you need to take?
Dear God,
Thank you SO much for being here for us, for giving us unconditional love, and being one we can depend on.  You never fail us.  I ask that you would help each of us as we strive towards continually surrendering to you, that we would listen to your commands, and strive towards a relationship with you in which we no longer hold back to pour our hearts to you! It's in Jesus' name I pray, Amen!
