Down By The River

Friday, April 21, 2017

Ugh, what a blissful day it was on my last day in Savannah!  We explored more of Bull Street, we made our way down the river, tasted each of the peanuts in the Peanut Shop, made one last stop at The Paris Market (ugh, bring me back!), went to The Gallery Espresso (1... 2... Okay, maybe 3 times), and of course got some yummy chocolates at cute shop.  I will say that we ate somewhere new on our last day, and I AM SO HAPPY WE DID!  We went to The Pie Society- your typical British bakery!  What a perfect way to give me taste of what it will be like when I travel to London and Killarney, Ireland this summer!  Speaking of which!  Share with me your suggestions, favorite things to do/eat, and any tips for my first abroad travel adventure in the comments!

Favorite Places In Savannah

Wednesday, April 19, 2017

I have shared my love of Savannah with you a bit, but I want to share a few more places that have a home in my heart as well.  There is a very rustic and artsy cafe there called The Gallery Espresso that has the most wonderful, cakes, pastries, iced teas, and delicious fruit bowls!  It is furnished with a huge variety of velvet and corduroy covered chairs, old wooden tables with beautiful grains, and rustic rugs with several colors.  The walls are covered in with artwork of a featured local artist.  This time the art work's were of people from the sixties that either had a fishtale, to antlers, to tales.  It was so creative and vintage! Another favorite place is The Paris Market!  It is such a romantic and chic boutique with anything from perfume, to an old fashioned candy isle, to dishwhare.  My favorite thing there, however,  is the darling little cafe corner where there have fromage plates, macaroons, and every table has fresh pink flowers.  And even if you don't have a wee child in your life you HAVE to take a stroll through their children's corner!  You won't find any cheap and dinky toys.  Instead you'll find classic jumpers with lace trim, wooden rocking horses, and storybooks about Peter Cottontale- every thing classy!
Do you have a favorite place in Savannah, Georgia!?

Six Pence

Monday, April 17, 2017

Hello there to all my lovely readers on this beautiful Monday morning! I hope you all had an amazing Easter yesterday!  I got to spend the day with my family, attend the Easter service at my church, and eat some yummy chocolate Easter bunnies!  Today I want to talk about my trip to Savannah last week though! If you follow me on my Instagram stories you already know what I was up to, but I had a blast!  Savannah is one of my favorite places in the world.  From the historic culture, to the brick roads, to the amazing little coffee shops and tea rooms, to the cute boutiques I just can't get enough of it!  I actually got this top and skirt the first day we were there, and then I wore it the second, haha!  I'm a little impatient I guess:P  I got them at my favorite boutique there in Savannah called Red Clover.  I have quite a few things from there, and I wear it all on the blog so the name probably sounds familiar! As for the British telephone booth behind me- it's at a restaurant called Six Pence Pub.  They have the most amazing pot roast and chocolate eclair! AND the coolest part about it is that it is actually from England!  They shipped the restaurant over in boxes and pieced it together when it got here.  There is more to come on my trip here, but for now I hope you enjoy the recommendations! Have a lovely day!

Tea For The Weekend: The Gryphon Tea Room

Saturday, April 15, 2017

One. Of. My. Favorite. Places. In. The. World... EVER! This was my fifth time to Savannah, however I only started going to The Gryphon the second time I visited Savannah.  I have been coming back ever since! The tea room is a beautiful vintage building that was once a pharmacy.  One wall still has the alphabetized drawers from corner to corner that would hold anything from aspirin to some sort of ointment.  Then on one wall is the bar that would have once been the ice cream and soda bar.  Every time I see it I can't help but think of the the scene from It's A Wonderful Life when Mary leans over and whispers in George's deaf ear that she will love him till the day she dies.  A chandelier hangs from the center of the room, a piano sits in the corner, beautiful string music fills the place, original tile lays on the floor when you enter, and then cheetah print carpet leads you to the rest of the tea room.  It's like stepping back in time when you enter The Gryphon.  You can go for high tea or you can go for a meal.  I love to experiment with tea's, because I love any kind.  So this time I got a tea called, Caribe, and it was a delicious green and black tea mix with different fruit herbs mixed into it to give it a sweet taste.  You will never have a complaint about the unique waiters and waitresses there either.  The tea room is run by SCAD, the Savannah College of Art and Design, and so all the employees are fun spirited and lively youngsters that will chat you up, and tell you what you need to know about Savannah!  And who knows- they may even be from your home state like the one I had yesterday! Next time you find yourself in Savannah you can't leave without going to The Gryphon(:

Sweet Savannah

Thursday, April 13, 2017

It's been too long.  I have traveled to Savannah, Georgia for the last three years on a girls trip with my mom every summer, but for my spring break this we took my dad along with us as well!  I am enjoying to its full extent.  It's a city I feel so at home in- like I can walk down the streets, and feel like I am a local.  When I sit in my favorite coffee shop here, The Gallery Espresso, I feel like I could sit there for hours and admire the people that filter in and out of it.  And when I am in my favorite tea room, The Gryphon, I feel as if I lived in the age that it was once a beautiful pharmacy (I will be sharing more about it on a tea post later on!)!  Do you have a place like this?

Okay, ladies, lets talk about this dress!  It is my very first Emily and Fin dress, and I can promise it isn't my last!  I have completely fallen in love with the brand with the way this dress feels, its vintage vibes, its fit, and the way that it makes me feel stunning! I am super excited, and I already know I am going to limit myself to wearing it all the time!
